Nutrition Goal Update- Due April 12th

After reading last weeks posts, many people seemed to struggle sticking to their goal over spring break. This is common. As humans we need routine and structure. Once our routine is disrupted, we have a hard time maintaining the behavior we are trying to change. Keep in mind, these are still goals you are trying to make a habit. Studies show this could take up to 6 months! This week, please tell us if it was hard to start tracking your goal again after stopping during spring break. If you continued to track your goal and do well during spring break, tell us what helped you stay motivated. This post should be about 2-3 sentences!

  1. It was really hard sticking to my goal because it was hot this spring break. And also hanging with friends at parks make u get a sweet tooth. I also did cut down on my slurpee habits. Instead of 3 a day I only drank one.

  2. It was difficult to keep track of my nutrition goal of eating only one desert item a day. This is because I was staying up later, so there was more time to get hungry and eat. Also, I went to disneyland, and there were so many unhealthy snacks I had no choice but to eat them!

  3. I found it difficult after spring break because I was used to sleeping in. I tend to wake up late every morning not having the time to put together a very healthy lunch and eat sweets. I was also used to the sweets and like the sugar so I would rather the chips over the carrots.

  4. After spring break, I hadn't even thought about my goal until we had to update this. If i don't continuously follow my goal i won't remember or keep track of it, therefore I won't achieve my goal. The bad habits I got from spring break also carried on after. I was craving more sweets and I didn't have very god self control.

  5. After Spring Break it was actually pretty easy for me to pick up on my goal again. I've been having an easy time with my goal, so I want to adjust it a little bit. Instead of just drinking 10 cups of water a day, I want to do that and eat 3 servings of vegetables a day.

  6. In spring break i pretty much hung out with friends and wasn't really able to do many healthy activities. I'm really upset that i couldn't stay on a routine during spring break and i'm afraid it will be the same in the summer. Since we didn't have school i tended to stay up later and didn't get many much sleep when school started.

  7. Over the past couple weeks I have observed obese peoples sizes. I know i never want to look like that so I eat healthier. I also stop myself from eating junk.

  8. Because it was hard to stay on task during spring break me and my mom decided to sit down and make a meal plan. Me and my dad had taken a week off of working out but have decided to start going again to the gym 5 days out of the week.

  9. i found it easier to stick to the components of my goal after school started back up because of the routine school and sports create in my life. i know i need to eat a certain balance of foods before practice, and a healthy breakfast is essential if i have tests or other big things going on at school. keeping my goal in check was definitely harder over spring break without this.
